ADVENTURE SULAWESI (CELEBES)

DAY 1:
 After meeting with the guide at the airport drive to the hotel. Take a walk along the waterfront, where you can watch local people eating at the hundreds of foodstalls - and enjoy the sunset over the sea. Overnight in Ujung Pandang.

DAY 2:
After breakfast leave for Sungguminase, the residence of the former kings of Gowa. Visit of the museum. Drive along the seaside via Tanaberu, the center of the ship-builders to Bira Beach.

DAY 3:
Through exciting beautiful landscape you will reach Sengkang. Boat ride on the Lake Tempe, to see the swimming houses of the fishermen. Enjoy a typical dinner. Overnight in Senkang.

Buganes Ship-Building

 DAY 4:
Watch people when they weave beautiful silk garments. The route takes you via Palopo to Rantepao, right in the heart of the Toraja-county. Sightseeing in Nanggala, a traditional village with 14 big rice barns. Overnight.

DAY 5:
Full day sightseeing in Tana Toraja. If you are lucky enough you will see a special funeral ceremony, which is always held as a big party for which people save money almost all their live.

DAY 6:
Drive up to 1300 m to Batutumonga, which allows you a spectacular view over the valleys. On trekking dwonwards for about 3 hours you pass rarely visited villages, coffe- , vanilla- and gloveplantations and of course very pitoresque rice terrasses

DAY 7:
Drive back to Ujung Pandang via Pare Pare for your onward journey to:

  • Balipapan in Borneo
  • Bali - Gods, demons and relaxing
